Eco Pet Care

EcoPetCare was founded in Christchurch, New Zealand, with a simple belief: We should be able to care for our pets without harming the planet they call home. Like many dog owners, picking up after our pets was part of our daily routine. It was something we never thought twice about—until we started learning about the environmental impact of single-use plastic waste. What we discovered was alarming. Millions of dog waste bags are used every day around the world. Most are made from traditional plastic and used for only a few moments before being thrown away. Yet those same bags can remain in the environment for hundreds of years. That reality hit us hard. We realized that while pet owners were doing the responsible thing by cleaning up after their dogs, many of us were unintentionally contributing to a much larger environmental problem. We couldn't stop asking ourselves: "There has to be a better way." That question became the foundation of EcoPetCare.

Our Mission

After extensive research, we discovered the potential of plant-based materials and saw an opportunity to make a difference.What started as an idea soon became a mission—to help reduce plastic waste, encourage more sustainable habits, and give pet owners an easy way to make a positive impact through a simple everyday choice. Today, EcoPetCare proudly provides plant-based dog waste bags for people who love their pets and care about the future of our planet. We know that one company cannot solve the global plastic waste problem alone. But we believe meaningful change begins with small actions repeated by many people.

The parks our dogs run through, the beaches they explore, and the environment we all share deserve our protection. From our home in Christchurch to dog-loving communities throughout New Zealand, we are trying to building a cleaner, greener future—one walk, one bag, and one responsible choice at a time.
